To Our Favorite Minionary!

I just couldn't resist.  Minionaries!  These make for a great care package.   We are sending ours for Valentine's Day.  But anytime is a good time.  Bring a smile to your missionary's face in just six easy steps.

1.  Buy a package of Twinkies.  Or Cloud Cakes.  If you can find one without any printing on the cellophane packaging you win a prize!  Be sure to leave me a comment and let me know how you did it!
(**One of my readers found some!!  Buy the WalMart generic "twinkies".  They don't have any printing on the packaging :)

2.  Purchase and print out this handy printable on regular old white printer paper.  And relish in the fact that there is very little usage of colored ink!

3.  Cut out the missionary "clothes" and tape to the Twinkie.  I used glue dots.

4.  Punch some "eyeballs" from a white sticker or address label and adhere to the Twinkie.

5.  Using a black sharpie..embellish to your heart's content.  I warn you that this is quite addicting and sooo much fun!

6.  Package them up and mail them off!

I promise that you will be able to hear the squeals of delight from half-way around the globe.

If you are looking for something fun for your Sister Missionary...you can find Sister Minionaries here!

  2. So cute! I took the printable into Photoshop and made all the ties green and wrote the name of my son and his companion on the nametags and made them up for St. Patrick's Day. Thanks for sharing!!

  5. Walmart sales a Great Value brand in a red box. They come individually packaged and have nothing on the plastic wrap! Sara Lee also has cream cakes in a red box, but they were all out at the time I was shopping. Fun to create
    these little guys!

    1. The sister missionary link is above right after the last picture of elder minions. I was so excited I almost missed it too. Have fun!

  8. I'm getting ready to make 95 of these for a Zone Conference. We'll be decorating the box they came in like a Elder (white shirt, tie, pants and name tag) or a Sister and using them on each table as a center piece and a take home item. I've never made them so I'm trying to be as efficient as possible with so many to make. What size circle for the eyes? Did you use a craft punch? Thanks for such a cute idea! I've seen others that try to add lots of detail, I think it takes away from the cuteness. -Krista

  9. Krista!! That is such a cute idea! I just used a circle craft punch. A little bigger than the normal office punch. But I'm sure whatever you have will work. And I punched it out of a white stick-on address label. So you don't have to glue. And guess what?? I am almost done designing the sister missionary version. I was hoping to post it today. I have the print-out done, I just haven't actually made them up and photographed them. So, if you need the file before I actually make it available here. Just shoot me your email and I will send it to you. I'd love to see your finished product. Bless you for taking care of our missionaries!!

  11. I used hole enforcements for the eyes. They're the perfect size. My mission prep class loved them!
